The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) honoured the best of Hindi cinema for the year 2023 on Saturday, September 28, in Abu Dhabi. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Shabana Azmi, among others, won big at the star-studded event.
Shah Rukh Khan was presented with the Best Actor award for Atlee’s 2023 film Jawan. Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman presented the award to him. As he walked up on stage, Shah Rukh touched the film director’s feet and hugged Rahman.
In his acceptance speech, the actor thanked the other nominees: Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Vicky Kaushal, and Sunny Deol. “I think all of them were great, but I got an edge because people were happy that I worked after so long,” he said.
