2 Antique Sterling Silver Salt Cellars Ornate Whiting Heart Shape Footed ca.1894

Beautiful pair of antique sterling silver heart shape salt cellars by Whiting Mfg. Co. ca.1894.  These 2 ornate salt cellars each stand on 3 ball shaped feet. They measure approximately 2 1/8" maximum width, 2 1/8" in length, and they stand approximately 5/8" high. Each weighs approximately 14 grams.  Both are clearly marked with Whiting Mfg. Co. hallmark, "sterling", 4593, and 925/1000 fine, as shown in the photos above. Whiting Mfg. Co. used a series of four digit sequential numbers stamped on its hollowware produced from 1880-1894. The number 4593 denoted production in 1894. Both of these ornate sterling silver salt cellars are in excellent condition with only a few light scratches.  There is light tarnish in isolated areas, both conditions are typical of ornate sterling pieces over 100 years old.
Both of these footed heart shaped sterling salt cellars are beautifully embossed front and back with flowers, leaves and scrolls along the edge.
