    Description

    Elegant and antique French Napoleon III era, sterling silver pair of Open Salt Cellars with Baccarat Crystal liners.
    Maker´s Mark:
    " M FRAY" - MARTIAL FRAY ( rue de 22 Pastourelle, Paris) and a star in a Lozenge / une etóile dans un losange.
    Marked with Minerva Head (tête de Minerve). The French assay mark for sterling silver is the head of the goddess Minerva. In fact, the French standard for sterling silver is higher than that of other nations, requiring a silver content of 950 parts per thousand.
    Date: 1849 - Circa 1861.-
    Dimensions approx.:
    * Tall 3 5/8" (9,3 cms.)
    * Bases approx. 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" (7 x 7 cms.)
    * Crystal liner top approx. 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" (6 x 6 cms.)
    Condition: In VERY GOOD condition for its age and use. One salt cellar is in MINT condition without chips, cracks or any damage.
