Egyptian Revival Open Salt Dish Wood Hughes Sterling Silver 1870 Mono AKA
Wood & Hughes sterling silver Egyptian Revival style open salt dish, having round form body with applied rectangular handles and figural pharaoh masks below. Top border is textured, stepped circular base is accented with beaded rim. On the front, there is an engraved ornate curly script monogram "AKA". c. 1865-1875.
This magnificent antique salt is 2 1/2" in diameter, 2" tall to the tip of the handle, weighing 68.2 grams or 2.2 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
