  • Condition: This salt is in good antique condition with no monogram or removal, crisp design, no repairs, a flat seat on the feet. The balls have slightly pushed in the interior of the salt, which is also heavily tarnished at bottom rim. There is also some persistent tarnish on bottom, and near the ball beet.

    Description

    This Ford and Tupper salt sits on four ball feet, has applied triangular handles with ruffled ribbons at each end, and is engraved with a horizontal framed cartouche flanked by leaves.  All in all, a nicely done Victorian piece.
    This salt is 4" long, 2 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" tall to the top of the handles, with a weight of 60 grams.
    Ford & Tupper were located in NYC 1876-74, and were mainly retailers of silver.  The bottom is stamped with their company name, 925, and sterling.
