J.K. Chastain Custom Wapiti TD NG1TD Right Handed Take Down Recurve Bow
Listed is a gorgeous right handed take down bow made by J.K. Chastain. It is a 3 piece takedown bow held together with 4 hex bolts and 4 brass grommets. The arrow rest has two pieces of fur or faux fur. On the left side of the center piece is written "Custom 'Wapiti', S.N. 104C, Model: NG1TD, S.L. = 57"." and on the right side is "Wapiti 'TD'" and is signed by J.K. Chastain. Both arms are hand serial numbered and match the center piece. They are also marked "Upper" and "Lower" to indicate proper orientation. Upper arms is marked "45# @ 28"'. It will ship in a the soft case pictured and will come with the string included, although there is no guarantee on the usability of said string.
This bow really is in fantastic condition! There are some light signs of use in the form of some scratches, scuffs and scrapes but is entirely free of any compromising cracks or splits. There are some hairline finish cracks where the grommet snugs up against the upper and lower arms but these do not extend through. The bottom piece of faux fur on the arrow rest has begun peeling off but the much nicer adjacent piece of fur is still attached confidently.
The way this bow was designed makes assembly and takedown a breeze which leads for unparalleled portability. The included case holds everything safely although a compact hard case could be rigged to carry it nicely as well.
