Description

Washington, D.C. (Mar. 8, 2005) - Lightly dusted with snow, one of the 19 sculpted soldiers at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., walks through a rice paddy on patrol. The memorial dramatically honors all who served during the Korean War. The memorial also consists of a wall with the inscription of the 22 nations supporting the war effort and a flagpole encircled by the "Pool of Remembrance." The memorial was dedicated on July 27, 1995, the 42nd anniversary of the signing of the Korean War armistice. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Daniel J. McLain (RELEASED)
